Animoto in my Classroom

I love Animoto and am really eager to start using it more. I have emailed my first video to my brother, aunt and mother. Everyone that received it really enjoyed it and ask me to teach them how to do it. I would love to use this in my classroom and believe it will benefit myself and my students. It would also be great for teacher conferences, professional development meetings, school assemblies, etc. There are endless possibilities that you can do with Animoto.

Students will love Animoto and will enjoy your presentations more than a normal boring PowerPoint or discussion. One thing that is great about Animoto is how simple it is. Your students could use this for their own presentations and it will be something they enjoy putting together that most students could do in just a few minutes. Another great thing about Animoto is its free for a 30 second video! Anything that comes free is worth looking at and Animoto is a great one to take advantage of.

Reflection 2: CDK's Education Technology Place

On your website I discovered many interesting things that I would also like to add to my webpage. I thought all the videos were very moving and sent a great message. It is extremely important for us as future teachers and administrators to have the ability to change and to act on it. There are so many resources out there that can be beneficial to our students and to us. There are also many tools that would make our life a lot easier for us if we just explore the options. It is important as young teachers to introduce this to our other staff members. Others may not like it or think it would not be beneficial but introducing them to the new technology is a great start. On your website you have a bunch of great links to other websites that is great to have in one spot and they are websites that I have never heard of, at least a few of them are new to me. Many of the articles you have linked are also great to us as future teachers whether it be informational or inspirational. I am a big believer in inspirational videos and would like to add a few to my own website.

Relfection 1: Technology Bits, Bytes, & Nibbles

I looked at a number of articles on the Technology Bits, Bytes, and Nibbles website and was very surprised on the different information on there. I am not always aware of the new types of technology and resources which can be detrimental to my teaching. As an educator I need to be aware of what is out there and use it. I read the article about the KidsMotion software and realized that this would be something that could be used in your classroom. It would help students explore the technology options we have and I think students would enjoy it. Something like this is appealing to students because it has to do with everyday things in their lives like facebook, youtube, etc. I also looked at the article about Quicklyst and was really excited about this as a student and a future educator. I think it is important to make study guides as you go along in the semester and in class. Also, having your notes all organized and in one place is a benefit to your organization and to your studying habits.
